Bihoa Caldwell

Age: 70

Occupation:
Retired but not really good at it yet.  I'm currently working as interim assistant principal at Thurgood Marshall Elementary School until next Friday.  We take off for Easter Island, Chile and Argentina a week from Super Bowl Sunday.  I'll be back at Thurgood Marshall after we return in mid-March to finish up observations and evaluations for the newer teachers and the instructional assistants before we go romping off again.  My replacement in February/March and May/June is also an OAC member.

Why CrossFit:
I'm not disciplined enough to work out on my own.  Signing up for a CrossFit class gets me to OAC.  I enjoy the fact that the exercises are all scalable to ability/strength (for example, my version of toes to bar is knees to belly button); the community Richard and Kyle build in the classes; the instruction in the proper form so we won't injure ourselves; the fact that I get pushed but not dangerously so; the encouragement/support from class members; and the fact that I'm getting into better shape.

Favorite workout/movement:
The squats with barbells and rowing.  Actually, I like the kettle bell work as well.

Least Favorite Workout/movement:
Oh, the dreaded wall balls!

Greatest CrossFit Accomplishment:
I've been steadily improving with weights on front and back squats.

Something you might tell someone that wants to join Kraken CrossFit:
I enjoy competing against myself.  Kyle and Richard have a good sense of when to push me which is a good thing because I won't really push myself.  It's fun.
